Ode to Captain Jack

Folder:
2006 Poetry

John Sparrow was his given name,

though he liked short to Jack.

His exploits were his claim to fame,

this ode to Captain Jack.

He suffered from the dreaded curse,

the gold doubloons had caused.

Worn on a chain not in a purse,

this ode to Captain Jack.

Put back into the dead man's chest,

would make it all turn right.

A harrowing task I do attest,

this ode to Captain Jack.

He did it true and won the pearl,

while getting his life back.

There was no way to get the girl,

this ode to Captain Jack.
