The Game

Folder:
2006 Poetry

You were quite the puzzle when we met,

I wasn't sure what part you played.

Though I thought I could tell it wasn't you

beneath the act you tried to portray.

Once I deciphered all your clues,

you had my heart consumed.

For in love I found myself to be

cause your character came shining through.

I'd like to believe that you are mine,

and loved me just the same.

But we both know this is not the case,

for the game is all that mattered to you.
