Sun Light

Folder:
2002 Poetry

I wake each morning to a sunlit room

And feel blessed with what life has to give

The glow fills my soul in a golden plume

Which makes me reflect on how I should live

We are all here for such a short time

Which in the grand scheme is a blink of an eye

So I gaze at the world for a meaningful sign

And if lucky experience something that makes me cry

Not of sorrow, but of joy and hope

For the world to evolve into what I know it can be

As we all have to deal, and to some way cope

With those things that prevent us to be free

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this on March 20, 2002.  It is the first poem I wrote trying to take the process seriously.
