Winter of Life

Folder:
2002 Poetry

The ice glistens off of the branches that are bare

Making the winter trees appear like priceless jewels

My breath turns to frost in the cold morning air

Then reality hits and I remember the rules

Be careful out there when you drive on the ice

Although the beauty is more than ample

Because the chance can be more than a roll of the dice

And you don't want to become an example

Winter sights are a thing to behold

And should be treasured throughout your existence

If you're lucky and careful you'll live to be old

Because it's a joy when you make it the distance
