Nurturing

Folder:
2002 Poetry

The earth is fertile when we plant our seed

Just like our life, which we hope will succeed

We want our garden, lush, green and alive

The same as our family, which we hope will thrive

Plant life grows when it's nurtured just right

A lot like our children, our life's delight

For both will grow strong if we do our job well

Right down to and including their very last cell

It takes hard work to make our garden bloom

Our family no less, and we shouldn't presume

To give less effort is not the task we share

Cause it takes all to provide for their need and care

Our gardens grow beautiful over the years

Which makes us proud and swell up with tears

For if we do it right we truly feel good

Knowing that we did all that we could
