Sounds of a Parade

The parade goes marching by

And the sunlight's in my eye

I can hardly see what's in front of me

It's just too bright for me to see

I hear the sound of marching bands

And the slapping sound of clapping hands

But the sun's so bright I'm blind to it all

Though the rest of the crowd is having a ball

Me and my squinting could have stayed home

For the sun's as bright as polished chrome

I think I wasted my time to be here

Though I wish to my vision this parade would appear

It would be fun to see what the parade has to show

But I have to listen and guess what I know

From other times when I could see

The parade marching in front of me

I guess I made a big mistake

Although I never catch a break

It would have been nice and really neat

If I had chosen the other side of the street

Author's Notes/Comments:

Don't let life pass you by.
If we make the wrong choices,
we won't be able to see it.
