EARTHLY EXCITEMENT

EARTHLY EXCITEMENT

Far flung lands seem to catch my eyes more and more;

For they seem to attract me like green, green pastures;

The meadows and valleys make me stand and stare;

As I find oneness with the creations on earth.

The rivulets that run down the valley maketh a river;

It roars down its course finding none to resist; nevertheless

It quenches my ever thirsty throat and appetite of people;

And, most of all, it produces the sweetest of earthly music.

Oh, I feel as if I am blind, for I see nothing but nature!

The colors of red, gold and green are just an illusion!

The roar of thunder, the whirling wind and the hissing sound,

Is just an accompaniment to nature’s orchestrated music!

The chilly breeze, the humming birds and the evergreen boughs,

With the exotic colors and fragrance of, the blossoms they bear;

Seem to fascinate me all the more and enthrall me to core;

Oh! They never allow this over-ambitious soul to leave.

Oh!  There is too much in store for a simple fellow like me;

Even Pandora’s Box seems to empty itself and will have nothing in it;

But the treasures on earth are so vast, varied and perennial;

That I wish, I would never miss a bit of the excitement, I had.

Author's Notes/Comments:

The excitement that the writer finds in nature is such that he is unable to get off.
