These days don't make it easy for anyone
many can't afford a half a tank
the days of driving in and saying Fill Er Up
are long gone
Bread truly isn't just a slang in someone's back pocket
as a loaf has taken on a meaning of its own
But I can promise you one thing with that little ring
I'll give you everything
I have to give
as long as I live
Is money the glue that is holding what's left in the world together
or is it the evil that is slowly breaking it apart?
Will it solve the hatred that flows so willingly
with all the blood spilling upon this earth?
I don't pretend to have all the answers
but I know one thing for sure
I will always love you
that is one thing money can never buy
I wish for one moment
a love like this
the whole world could feel
I know this has to be God's will
I can't pretend that I can buy you security
the life of luxury of not having to go to work tomorrow
to take away the stress of so many heavy burdens
But I can promise you this
When you come home I will hold you
You can look into my eyes and you will know I love you
If you need to cry, my shoulders will soak them in
If your shoulders need rubbing, my hands will find them
and if you need to scream, I will listen
and then I will hold you and soak in your tears
