Dread thoughts creeping in mind

‘bout not having to open my eyes

this trepidation seemingly a vulnerable

window off the gust of wind speed

if that day will come no sooner than

tomorrow or the day after tomorrow

I hope I’d be more prepared and be

most willing to lay in the coffin

as if I were just sleeping
