FIRST DAY IN THE CLASS

Folder:
2002 Poetry

The entrance gate familiar to my gaze

My eyes meander to the tall building

  Nothing has changed so far

Still the same as the previous years

    I treaded the hallway slowly

Wishing time would halt just for today

My mouth was feeling the drench

As I near the door leading to my class

      Hands colliding in sweat

     Carrying a colossal irrational fear

The doorknob opened, I wish not

About 20 stare or something I got

The prominent figure looked my way

In a sarcastic way she verbalizes her dismay

“Oh Miss you’re way too early for your next class”
