MISSED CHANCES

Folder:
2001 Poetry

No food to eat

Only water to drink

Belly throbbing

Hands quivering

You chance upon beggars on the street

Filthy hands extending for your reach

Frail eyes beseeching for some pennies

Are you deaf or blind? Why that Stolid?

You refused to see

The naked reality

Obvious inequality

Between YOU and HE

Neglected and objected

That's how he is regarded

YOU spend all your earnings

To lavish clothings

To night clubbings

To beer feastings

To mundane rakings

To money gambling

And tips skyrocketing

YOU are lucky

Your problem is only broken family

Still YOU are lucky

Your parents sustain all your whimsies

Educated as you are

But never learned any morals

YOU mock what you don't see

And criticize what you don't feel

Better days

Luxuriant today

Maybe gone tomorrow

Don't wait for the day to reply

YOU'll never know when your time will fly

One day YOU will grieve

How you missed to care and give

And no matter how YOU plea for it to repeat

When YOU had the chance but let it slipped
