The Black Vulture

~The Black Vulture~

Timmy and his grandfather dangled their feet in the small lake

as they sat on a dock, fishing. The fishing was pleasant, but because the catching

was very slow, the minds of the two anglers began to wander.

After a short while Timmy said to his grandfather:

"I had a dream last night."

"Oh? What kind of dream?'

 "You were in the dream."

"Anyone else?"

"A black vulture."

"Where was the vulture? Was it in the sky?"

"No. It was on a rocky cliff. It was eating something."

"A rabbit?"

"No. It was eating the eyes out of a man's face."

"Oh no! What a terrible dream!"

"The vulture seemed very hungry."

"Did this scare you?"

"No. The vulture didn't see me."

"Do you think vultures dream, grandfather?'

"Well, I suppose so. I don't see why not."

"If we were in a vulture's dream would it eat our eyes?"

"I think just about anything can happen in dreams. Why do you ask?"

"Because I'm totally blind, now."

"Grandfather? Grandfather?"
