I do not know a lot about you

just a name and a few other things

but over the time we've worked together

you've become a friend.

And here it is

on the day of your birth

and you're sitting there

questioning your worth.

So let me tell you what it is to me.

You turned away from really bad things

you tried to make wrongs right

you left behind your comfort zone

opened your heart to the light.

That alone takes you away from friend

and elevates you to a new place

for you are now a sister in Christ

you've joined the amazing race.

So you've gone from friend to family

and that means a lot you see.

For there's one thing I won't do

and that's leave behind family.

So on this day to celebrate your birth

I want you to remember your worth.

You are part of the family to me

with a brother named Jesus you see.

Now this brother went through hell,

and pulled us both from the fire.

And doused the flames with his blood.

there's no price higher.

So that is what you are worth to me

as a friend and family member

So remember that someone paid such a price for you

on this the day of your birth.
