I tried for you but a season ago

You shot me down with a crippling blow

‘Twas truly a shocking sight to see

For I was the “player” all wanted to be

The pain I had was never before felt in such a way

I sincerely doubt anyone should wish to feel as I on that fateful day

It was then I realized I needed a change in style

Was finally time to quit living in denial

Always thought I only needed her for a night

And there was nothing wrong with being so quick to take flight

Then you came along and taught me otherwise

Proved to me that all my beliefs were lies

Said to life there was so much more

But into a relationship my heart must I pour

You showed me the world in only a day

But Girl I wouldn’t have it any other way

Now I’m back to reap what I sow

And there is something you should probably know

My feelings for you are in fact quite real

And though some believe it to be my Achilles Heel

I believe it is so much more

That truly fate is in store

In the past, from sea to sea my lies have ranged

But Girl, please believe me for I have truly changed

Only remnants now remain

Of a past life filled with agony and pain

For now those times I assure you are gone

This truly is a new day’s dawn

And I come now to set you free

As in the past, you did for me

I ask you to please be my love tonight

I assure you with all my heart that it will be alright

Grab my hand, and in faith take a leap

Feel my love for you which is so deep

Now all that’s left to endeavor
