Choices

Only now do I regret

So many choices I have made

Too long have I spent

Playin' and gettin' played

Only now do I regret

Choices made long ago

It's amazing looking back

How memories do flow

I never could have grasped

The price I'd have to pay

For waking up beside you

As night turned to day

And never could I have imagined

In all my wildest dreams

So many years later

I'd still have to wake up to the screams

And even though I've changed for the better

I still carry the brand on my shoulder

In the form of a letter

Yet still does it haunt me

Those times so distant and so far

The burden must I always carry

For upon my shoulder still remains the scar
