See Me, See Myself

Folder:
Personal Poems

See me,

For what I am.

Nothing more,

Nothing less.

See me,

Not for what I’m not.

Not for how your "supposed" to see me.

But for how you have always seen me.

Don't change for me,

Don't change for you.

Change for no one but yourself.

If its not who you are,

Don't be.

If its not who I am,

I try not to be.

I see myself.

Half a man,

Yet more then others.

I am trying.

Playing both sides.

I don't want you to act different.

I don't want you to act the same.

Act as you would.

Don't change for me.

Don't do anything different.

For I don’t deserve it,

Nor do I require it.

I see myself,

I look at it everyday.

It’s me,

Who I am.

And it’s never going to change.

I see myself,

And accept it.

And hope you will too.

But don't be different for it.

You don’t need to.

I know who you are.

And I know what your not.

And I know when you are doing something at my expense.

It’s not needed.

I understand.

I play both sides.

See me,

For Myself.

See myself,

For me.

It’s who I am.

And it’s who you are.

Nether should change,

Just respect.

Nether should falter.

It’s open and out,

And it can't be something never spoken of.

I’m not ashamed,

And you shouldn't be scared.

It’s me,

The same,

The old,

The child.

See me.

See myself.

I look in the mirror,

Wonder what everyone else sees,

But care little of what they think.

Trust myself,

And trust you.

Follow me,

And guide yourself.

Follow you,

And guide me.

Life’s less ordinary,

When you find yourself.

And for better or worse,

Less ordinary when someone finds you.

I get it,

Who I am.

What I'll be.

I'm not ashamed,

Not of myself.

I'm ashamed at everyone else,

That’s scared of it.

For that I must hide,

Yet those who I trust,

They will see me,

As I see myself.
