You walked up beside me without saying a word

I knew what you were thinking, I knew what I heard

You never even looked at me, never turned my way

But I heard every word that you wanted to say



I know the distance between us always has to be

I know exactly what people need to see

I go on everyday happy knowing what is true

I go on everyday thinking of you



You will always be a friend of heart never to fade

Never completely hidden, just roaming in the shade

But I still see you; I know that you are there

The truth of it all is that I will always care



You helped me find myself, you made truth appear

You made just who I need to be completely clear

I will always be thankful for the help that you gave me

For all you did was listen and helped me to see
