For now we laugh

The sun sank intimately,
retreating with a hint of theatrics.
The curtains fell over the horizon,
the main stage was set, and the stars indulged us

A sinking feeling,
clutching my wrist,
fed the blood on my shirt,
and there was laughter inside of your voice

Counting the stars,
as they appeared.
The romantics became the catalyst,
of a night bleeding in motion

One by one,
they lit up the sky
like candles on a cake,
feeding off the life of each other

There will be a day,
that the veil between,
fades into nothing,
and we are all whisked away

But for now,
for now we implore,
give back to the flames
sleeping silently in the shadow of tomorrow

The bringer,
of all we hold dear,
will provide a surplus,
bringing an ending worthy of an entry

Don't guide these footsteps of mine

We lay ignorantly,
in the path of destruction
dancing unrivaled by nature
and laughing as we fall to the ground
