Earth Bound Eagle

I'm an earth bound eagle
without wings to soar
I'm a concrete jaguar
lost in an artificial jungle

Searching desperately for me
so long with no real guidance
a child swept into the darkness

An awakening that rips from my soul
grasping and taking a hold
as the soul never forgets
timeless and has no beginning or end

The lessons so painful at times
without a script or lines
a continuing hunger that grows
a growing thirst never quenched

I'm an earth bound eagle
without wings to soar
I'm a concrete jaguar
lost in an artificial jungle

I watch and learn from the monkeys
soul gazing into mortals universes
reaching for the gods essences'

Strong left behind survivor
put through the fire, test of time
trembling within from an unknown force
that continues to break free

Shining, giving brief glimpses of me
a beam of light that lights the way
walking ever nearer to it's warmth
until one day we are one...
