A better me

I will find myself without you,

This new world is never ending,

Every path and where it leads to,

Lends itself to mending.

The time it takes to find me,

The one I know most true,

Will be wrought with pain in hiding,

But emerge with something new.

Watch every day bring a sour taste,

A poison poised at my hopeful thoughts,

But I know now how to separate the waste,

And throw away everything I am not.

For the sweetest things are yet to come,

In a loving place I’ll be,

Though the hardest fight will not be done,

I’ll be a better me.
