Small town

Welcome to the town, where I had to grow up,

No one ever helped, I lost so much,

I always dreamed, I’d get to leave this place,

But not without a fight, a million slaps in my face.

As I walk down this street, it’s easy to see,

That the boarded windows can see right through me,

No feeling of comfort, no feeling of home,

With all the drunks around, I still feel alone,

What’s so wrong with this small town?

It will shatter your dreams, if you stay too long.

If you don’t get out, it will eat you alive,

It has claimed so many lives, and now it’s after mine.

Welcome to this town, where I almost gave up,

Where one by one we crumble, until we lose touch,

And what about my friends that were consumed by your name?

You drove them so far down, we’ll never be the same.

As I wander down another darkened street,

The light flickers out, monsters start to creep,

The darkness is here, even in the middle of the day,

How did you become so cold? How do I make you go away?

What’s so wrong with this small town?

It will shatter your dreams, if you stay too long.

If you don’t get out, it will eat you alive,

It has claimed so many lives, and now it’s after mine.
