peace, envelopes my soul
the heavens unfolding before me
a new day burst awake
sun brillant, clouds lightly dusting the sky
today is here unlike any other before
truly this is the first day of the rest of my life
the birds singing
children rising full of anticipation of the day ahead
paperboy rides by on his bicycle
mailman's familiar smile...black bag full of letters and bills
dogs barking
people hurrying, scurrying to get to work
flowers stretching to greet the morning sun
dew blanketing the grass, giving it lifes blood
I know today is a gift
and I shall cherish it as such
