Beyond the Year

In the year 33 A.D.

   our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ hung-on a cross;

nailed, beaten, and staggering at the farthest

                   edge of life's end.

But, before He succumbed to the pains of human affliction

before He begged the Father for the forgiveness of

                       timeless humanity

and before He gave up the ghost to let his lifeless head

fall down hard to the rock of his chest,

He looked beyond the year 33 A.D.

Christ looked pass the fall of the Roman Empire and glanced by the many centuries of Africa's savaged exploitations.

He even skimmed over the destruction of the Black family, the sinking of the Titanic, and two World Wars to STOP 1,971

years later to take a thoughtful stare into 2004.

What was it that made Christ look into this year, out of all

years on the human time scale?

Was it the War in Iraq?

Was it Janet Jackson's Super Bowl expose'

                    on her right breast?

Was it the rising gas prices that make cross-town

           commutes feel like cross-country road-trips,

                from a gas tank's perspective?

Odd enough, these events did not at one time catch

His attention. Instead, Christ's attention was caught

by the blossoming evolution of a son of the Virgo

       constellation.

He looked within this Zodiac Child only to be nearly-blinded

by the artistic luminance of a brown star flaring through a

mysterious cloak of something of some secret nature that

    is.....dark.

He saw the Earth-Toned Youth digging bare-handed in rugged

black soil, finding love in the form of a semi-precious stone

  of.....copper.

Wait a minute! A semi-precious stone of copper?!

Christ was slightly confused, for He could not understand,

or see, the normalcy of the love this Earth-Toned

      Youth had for this.....this....Earth-Toned Similarity.

He examined this Star-Descendant's heart to have revealed

before His eyes a void.  A deepening black void had been in

place since the Star-Descendant first lost love in the form

of that semi-precious stone of copper.....this.....this....

    Earth-Toned Similarity.

By now, Christ was ready to die and fulfill his life-purpose,

reinforcing the meaning behind His passion.

But, He could not blink once for what flashed before

            His eyes next.

It was the Son of the Virgo Constellation,

                the Zodiac Child,

                the Earth-Toned Youth,

the Lover of a Semi-Precious Copperstone,

the Warden of the harnessed fluorescence

                    from a galactic brown star,

tailored in a fitted-blue cap and gown ensemble

marching to a stage to receive the highest of adolescent

honors: a high school diploma.

After viewing this clip from the future, Christ held his head

high to the gray-stretched skies of Calvary and proclaimed to

the Father in agonizing pain AND a new sense of purpose:

"Having put his life before my own and over-looking

the multitudes of mankind's anguish, to look over ONE

who has yet to form in the womb of a red-boned maiden.

1,971 years in the making beyond this time and I shall call

into existence longetivity and continual poetic inspiration in

the life of this Son of the Virgo Constellation,

              this Zodiac Child,

              this Earth-Toned Youth,

this Lover of a Semi-Precious Copperstone,

this Warden of the harnessed fluorescence

                   from a galactic brown star,

                     BEYOND THE YEAR 2004!

And with this proclamation made, our Lord and Savior Jesus

Christ exhaled the last breath of His immortality and died

for you, you, you......and if you ain't figured it out yet,

    He died for ME, too!

This is an abstract way of me thanking God for allowing me live to see my high school graduation!
