At a time when I

was cold and alone

I thought I'd never find it.

I was blinded by the rays

of a sun burned black

by the cleansing flames

of irreverence.

I hated who I was and

who I was fated to be

chained to a rocket destined

for death in the ionosphere.

Then I met you, and everything changed.

My soul was set alight

by chaste touch and mischievous smile.

My heart doubles its pace

every time I see you.

I am at aloss for detracting word

when my eyes drink in your beauty.

Every time I think of you

an unconquerable smile defines

this ink black face.

Nothing will stop our love

unless you decree it.

One day I'll kiss you again.
