What's Left?

My Favorite Poems

Pulsating;

My eyes shift across, watching every molecule of light pass by.

The empty feeling of night scares me, though I can’t tell if I am.

My heart is racing though it is stressing to resist.

A static feeling enters the room;

And like a child, I cover my head hoping to find protection.

Where are you?

Are you coming?

Am I safe?

An abandoned soul is lying here;

Waiting for company to return.

You are alone,

You are unwanted,

You won’t survive.

They say that the truth hurts,

Though they never meant for it to hurt this much.

Don’t worry,

Soon your sorrows will pass,

And so will you.

A cool and rose scented breeze passes over my nose.

I sigh with comfort, and listen.

Clouds break in the distance;

Pitter putters are heard knocking against the wood of my home.

The steadiness of the falling drops calms me,

Hypnotizes me;

I’m asleep.
