Butterfly lips

Refreshing

The slow, yet heavy, drops of water fall and splash as they meet new objects.

A heart shaped leaf lowers its head as a puddle is formed on its smooth, golden skin.

A weight that keeps it from being proud.

If only the weight that holds me down was like the water on this fragile leaf, soon to evaporate and form back into the sky.

As the river level rises, a beaver mends twiggs, branches and mudd together to form a dam to provide food and protection for its home.

Where is my support?

Isn't there a 'Dam' out there for me too?

A pack of wolfs' huddle together for warmth, and re-assure eachother with comforting licks.

I can only wish for some one to bring me comfort.

I have been left alone, to die,

Leaving behind my sad, unfinished life.

The only thing with me now, are my hopes that there will be some peace.

Like drifting with the ocean tide,

I nod off into a cold dream.

Colorful explosions of light, bring back lost memories.

Memories of days past, when life was simple.

When this whithered soul was still young and innocent.

As I continue to ride on this lightening of dreams, I lower my body to the ground, underneath a willow in blossom.

Petals fall off their body's one by one, as the wind picks up a little speed.

It takes only one large gust to bring them all floating to the earth.

The rain has settled and the sun begins to peak out from behind murderous clouds.

Drenched and covered in mudd, my shell lies motionless.

A peaceful sleep has finally overwhelmed me.

Searching for salt, a black and purple butterfly flutters my way.

Landing on my cheak it drinks from my damp skin as more are now attracted.

Thousands hover in confusion before they take rest.

Every inch of me is covered by them, except for one place.

It seems that not even a butterfly would want a kiss from these frozen lips.
