Guide Me About the Moon

There are times that the breaths I breathe aren't of my own
And I often wonder if could simply exhale and fail to retract
Blotting out the colors with my perception it seems
Though I'm not in any place to distinguish various shades of black

I could crawl towards the light and leave you waiting for help
Or assist you in climbing and allow the pathways receding to collapse
In time or in something, space will surely catch us
For now this is here, and in your eyes all that's colliding distracts

Preferred company by another of apathetic nature
Sing-song empathy, with lyrics that are subject to grasp
Hand-in-hand I find a million reasons to untangle
By your side, using broken things to construct our path

I could crawl towards the light and leave you waiting for help
Or assist you in climbing and allow the pathways receding to collapse
In time or in something, space will surely catch us
For this is here, and in your eyes all that's conflicting distracts

Nails tearing down a chalkboard, hidden thread-by-thread
A fascination with the bones my choices allow to alienate
Your voice strays my mind from all the scary soundless hallways
Heavy feet lightly lift as you guide me about the moon- all bad thoughts occur a step too late
