'I Ain't The One"

“I ain’t the one”

I have a past and I know you do too.

But, I can’t help but feel that I’m not good enough for you.

You talk of things that are soo pleasing to my ears.

And to get attached to you is one of my biggest fears.

You express the want for the same things I do.

But I’d rather give up than to dissapoint you.

You deserve someone better; someone who has more to give.

I can’t explain my past nor justify the way I live.

So, please go a way I can’t deal with you any longer.

The longer you stay the more my feelings will grow stronger.

You have soo much to offer whomever is willing to take it.

You have a positive outlook on life and you’re definitely going to make it.

You’re a beautiful person, exactly the kind of person I thought I was looking for.

You have a magentic innocence about you that I am forbidden to ignore.

I wouldn’t want to hold you back from getting what you deserve.

I don’t have the will power to commit, more importantly I don’t have the nerve.

I have  admiration and respect for your ability to relate your true feelings.

I’d like to learn to mirror your qualities of  being honest and revealing.

I wish you the best on your journey through life and want you to enjoy it to the fullest of your ability.

Please look beyond our immediate predictament and realize what you’re looking for you won’t find in me!

Please don’t change your approach to love, because your unique desire for it is what will get you through.

Please don’t allow anyone to kill your hope for love; and know that the one you’re meant to be with will actually come to you!

So please leave me alone now while you still have a chance.

Truth is at best I could only offer you a short lived  romance!

Author's Notes/Comments:

I can't remember whom I wrote this about, but I wish more people would be respectful and UN-selfish enough to tell someone when they're not ready for the commitment and spare the person's precious time to allow them to move on to someone whom is.
