"Tried and Convicted"

Tried And Convicted

I shouldn’t be confessing all this because I might incriminate myself.

The damage is done and, I’m man enough to do any time I’m dealt.

I’m guilty of manipulating you; taking; advantage of your time.

I’m guilty of sleeping in your bed; when I could’ve been in mine.

I’m guilty of letting thoughts of you consume my mind from sun up to sun down.

I’m guilty of envisioning an ideal mate and wanting you to wear the crown.

My conscious Is weighing heavy because of all the things I’ve did.

I thought my intentions were innocent; but who was I trying to kid?

The truth is I had decided I was through with the relationship pursuing.

I was blown away by the time I realized what my heart was doing.

Emotions have over come me; contradicting any of my previous wishes.

I guess love is a necessity and obviously something my life misses.

I know you may be saying to yourself that you’ll give me all I deserve.

I dare you to deliver on that threat if you even have the nerve!

Evidence is damaging as circumstantial as it may be.

As judge and jury I hope it’s enough for you to convict me.

Yes, I did it I’m guilty of all crimes.

You’ve proven your case; now let me do my time.

Please be merciful this could be my last chance.

I’m just a lost soul in search of romance.

O.k. the trial is over now is your turn to convict me.

Please sentence me to life with you and throw away the key.
