Merely Players

Personal (Hope)

Sometimes I wish my life had played out differently,

like I was just an actor in someone else’s story.

Going through the motions

written for me by the hands of fate,

I accepted my destiny of meaninglessness.

But when I look back and ponder,

I see how everything

worked out exactly how it was meant to,

even if not how I would have planned it.

How every experience has made me who I am,

maybe a little broken,

but getting stronger

and more hopeful every day.
