We were all born
to broken people.
Our fractured pasts
wreck havoc
on our children.

We all have
the same holes
in our hearts.

Everything falls apart
like it happened before.

We hurt each other
because we’ve been hurt.

And it continues again,
growing like
a tumbleweed.

It collects the thorns
and thistles
causing more pain.

We are rolling
through deserts,
craving sustenance.

We just want
to survive,
to thrive in this wasteland.
