Stolen Innocence

Folder:
Society

Sweet little girl,
innocent to the world’s vices,
I wish I could save you
before the damage is done.

This is no way to live-
parents feuding in the next room,
a boy you hardly know uses you.

I wish I could bring back
the passion they robbed
from your youth.

I wish I could erase the past,
remove the tears
that plague your days.

I wish I could return
the color to your eyes,
the hope in your dreams.
