God (Inspired by) Blind my eyes for they see
only what they want to;
they distort the truth
and hide from the light.
Cover my ears for they hear
only what they want to;
they block out your words
and listen to the lies.
Still my tongue for it says
only what it wants to;
it speaks fondly of the enemy
and curses your name.
I’d rather be
blind, deaf, and dumb
than how I am.
