Senses Dulled

Folder:
Society

We have lost our ability
to feel anything,
to taste the flavor of life.

I close my eyes
because the world is
blindingly unsettled.

I shut my ears
because I don’t want to hear it
crumbling around me.

It’s falling apart
a little more every day:
humanity sheds her skin.

An odor of destruction
fills the air around us,
a pungent collapse.
