My Peace

Folder:
Love Blossoms

I’m addicted to you

because you keep me stable;

you’re the sobering antidote

so you’ve become my drug.

There is so much turmoil

in my life right now;

you are my peace.

I can’t even walk into my home

without being attacked

by the enemy.

Verbal grenades are flung

at me from every angle;

you are my escape.

I don’t want to scare you away;

I know the sounds of war

make your ears bleed

but please stay with me.

I will bite my tongue

to keep from saying something that

will drive you to neutral territory.

Please wait a little longer,

and I will show you that I can be

what you’ve been for me.
