Lost People

Folder:
Society

We are all searching for something,

something beyond this place,

something to fill the space

in our hearts.

We are in denial;

we believe we can withstand

every trial

on our own.

But we are not alone;

we never have been

and never will be

because there is Someone

looking out for us.

He’s searching too:

searching our hearts

because He’s already there

but He’s looking for a way

to show us He’s here

for us.

We like being lost though;

we are wanderers

wondering

why we’re alone.

Deep in our hearts,

we know we are not,

but as humans

we run away

rather than draw near.

We try to run away

from our problems,

but at the end of the road

we find them again.

You can’t escape your life

unless you take it;

you can’t find your life

unless you give it.

Inspired by: “Then there’s those moments when living seems pointless, and the stars in the sky seem to dull – it’s times like those that you give up on the world. All that is gold does not glitter; not all those who wander are lost.” - J. R. R. Tolkien
