Ruminating

Folder:
Dedications

You haven't crossed my mind in months;
then last night you invaded my dreams.

So all day I've ruminated on you
and the lack of closure I have felt.

I scoured the Internet to find
any evidence of your existence
besides in my fantasies.

And there you were, married.
I wasn't sure if I was happy for you
or just a little surprised.

You didn't age well, hair receding.
Did you always have such
crooked teeth and giant ears?

I begin wondering what I saw in you,
but that one memory still lingers
when your passion overwhelmed you.

I'd do anything to kiss you again,
not because I still have feelings
but that was the last time I felt...

anything.
