but naive ears don't know better.

Shouldn't have believed you;
Shouldn't have trusted you.

Forgot to check the calendar
and see April 1st staring back.

The joke's on me,
you turned me into a fool.

And my foolishness
brings me to my knees.

Tears stream down cheeks
tired of falling for lies.
