The Devil

I always pictured the devil
to have a red face and pointed horns.

Little did I know
that the devil had blue eyes
and a wicked smile.

I should have known
he'd know just how to tempt me.

He looked into my heart
and made me feel desirable.

He hid the ring on his finger
and the age on his birth certificate.

I should have known
the devil was a liar.
