God's Handwriting

Folder:
God (Inspired by)

God is greater to me than
my own identity for He made me
and all my interlocking parts
and scattered thoughts.

I behold Him in everything,
but barely understand Him
no more than I comprehend myself.

I see God in nature,
in the faces of passersby,
in my reflection in the looking glass.

I find God in word,
in the voices of the humble and the proud,
the voices of the oppressed
and in their oppressors.

His handwriting is on the actions
of those who show compassion,
and also the apathetic
who turn the other way.

His signature is everywhere,
in the beauty of humanity
and the ugliness that makes
beauty stand out all the more.
