Africa kills her sun [in memory of Ken-Saro-Wiwa]

At dawn the sun sets...

Like a game match Africa watches

a cleansing ritual at the stadium.

In an instant thirst for light

is choked in a blight!

But good isn't it?

Dying honestly

sacrificed like a lamp

for a human course!

Tomorrow the sun of Africa

must rise from the dead

for truth shall never die

but more radiant it grows!

Author's Notes/Comments:

This was inspired by a story 'Africa kills her sun' by Ken-Saro-Wiwa. This was a kind of premonition to his eventual execution on 11/11/95 on similar circumstances as he described in his story.Yet truth of his activism never died with him, it remains to infinity!
