Teething

I'm just a fool,

of a lazy april day,

Of a dream I'll never have,

A past so vague,

only living in my sleep,

AS life, dangles it above my head,

As I'm held up to the flame,

Lost in my sorrow,

Lost in a forest fire,

I grasped you,

I held my dreams in my arms,

I stumbled like a fool,

Oh my laughing life!,

using me like a marionette show,

AS I hugged you like a turtle,

Like a feeling,

Like a dream I long for,

I hugged you like a bundle of sleeping stars,

Now, my briny tears weep,

descending down my cheek,

A cheek that once pressed upon yours,

Like a crayon to the page,

Like an infant to its mother,

When I was a part of you,

those few seconds,

I'm a fool without you,

on that lazy april day.
