And Still I Wait

I wait in this black emptiness.

Nothing comes to heart or soul.

Nothing but a blithe and peaceful silence.

The black silence of emptiness drags on.

And still I wait.

Fog rolls at my feet, white and wispy.

Black trees form around me.

The grass is dewy.

The night is still black.

And still I wait.

As the stars fade,

the horizon brightens.

All things are illuminated by the sun.

All creatures awakened by its warmth.

And still I wait.

I wait in this black emptiness.

Nothing comes to heart or soul.

Nothing but a blithe and peaceful silence.

The black silence of emptiness drags on.

And still I wait.
