The Sage of Time

Of the elements, I am the sage.

I have lived through an ancient age.

With its changes not in brevity.

From docile to impertinent the poeple have ranged.

Of the elements, I am the sage.

Ethereal are the elements to which I have engaged.

Obdurate are those unknowing, trapped within a cage.

Vindicative of their impertinences.

Pious and docile and yet in a rage.

Of the elements, I am the sage.

The mortals find me to be droll in my ancient age.

Brash are they, like the younger mage.

Destitute of their vindictively dark hearts.

Impassive I remain to their malevolent rage.

Of the elements, I am the sage.

Author's Notes/Comments:

For those who are uncertain, this in poem,
by "the elements" I am referring to time itself.
