Dare

Dare you stare into my eyes?

Dare you kiss me and bid me goodnight?

Dare you fool me with your childish lies?

Dare you!

Segue your way into my loveless life.

Dare I stare back, into your deep brown eyes?

Dare I say it back, goodnight?

Dare you say "love" when what meant is despise?

Dare you!

Ruin my loveless life.

Dare I miss your deep brown eyes?

Dare I wish you say love, even if what meant is despised?

Dare I embellish my heart with your lies?

Dare you!

Steal my loveless life.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I guess this poems is about one of those people who "have been hurt in the past" and are just really scared to get involved with anyone for fear of history repeating itself. A sad existence. But an existance none the less.
