Stargazing

The night is clear,

The calrity of darkness in summer

And you and I, sitting on the hillside,

Watch the stars come out.

As we do, enchantment takes over,

The enchantment of love and summer and night.

As each star begins to shine,

We can feel more deeple each other's souls.

We hold each other close,

But speak not a word,

Content with simply being.

And then the crowning glory:

The full moon rising above the trees,

Bathing us in its soft light.

I turn to look at you,

Watching your face shine in the moonlight,

As you murmur,

"When all the stars have faded and died,

I will still love you."

I hold you close as I reply,

"As I will you,

When all memory of the stars' existence has faded."
