Reminiscence

               Reminiscence

I know there’s nothing I can do or say
You’ve made that clear in so many ways
So Instead I’ll reminisce
About  the one that I will miss

In July of 1999
I was proud to make you mine
It was the happiest day of my life
They day that you became my wife

You were so beautiful
Strawberry Blonde, you also glowed
Your golden supple skin
Your dress white as snow

So honored that you’d have me
A beautiful couple we would be
The honeymoon was oh so fun
Off to Bahamas to be beach bums

We’ve had good times and bad times too
That’s what life throws at you
Blessings and Miracles have come our way
I thank God for you every day.

So even though it has been rough
For us both when moments were tough
I will always be thankful for our time
And for our kids, yours and mine

Because we loved and shared our dreams
God blessed us with two precious human beings
To have them each was no normal trend
Because His love we have Mara and Christian.

You were the one who carried them through
No matter what was happening to you
The first, you told me was not long enough
But you were perfect and he was tough

The second one endured with you
You risked your life to save her too
I’ll never forget what you did
To give us these very precious kids.

Our little ones are growing up
They love us both very much
All they’ve known is us two
Mommy and daddy, they love us true

I wish we felt like we felt that day
When we said yes and we both had faith
To stay together and become as one
As God intended for all who wed, not just some

Regardless of the trials we’ve seen
Whether I’ve wronged you or you wronged me
I’ve always loved you and that remains
But I can’t make you feel the same

So in closing I’ll say this
My wedding day was pure bliss
The happiest time I have ever known
A gift from God my mind was blown

Thank you for being in my life
Thank you for being my precious wife
I will always cherish the time we had
I choose fond memories and not the sad.
