Story behind the Diet

Well, there is actually a story behind my personal diet.  For starters, it was assigned, and the evil pyramid site told me that I was over weight.  So I went on my three-day diet; a diet consisting of delicious green stuff, some meat stuff, and some other stuff.  Basically I was eating a lot of salads, steaks, chicken, fruits, and my daily dose of McDonald’s breakfast.

“Yay!  Project is finished!”  That’s what you’d think I had said, right?  Well, you are correct.  Once those three days were over, I was jumping for joy, all the while thinking to myself “Woot!  Now I can go back to eating chocolate and chips!”

And so I did…Until Easter Sunday came along.  That particular weekend swept through, and I was on my diet all over again.  After the whole event, I decided to turn on those results and story as a bit of good humor, since it was kind of funny.  Not at the time, but still…

Oh right, I’m supposed to tell you the story.  Let’s begin with Sunday morning.  Easter is here, I’m hording Cadbury Eggs and stashing them so that my cats can’t find them.  And suddenly I notice it’s getting rather chilly.  Low and behold, the gas runs out.  Well isn’t that just peachy?  No heat and the gas company doesn’t open back up until Tuesday; Thank you, Easter Monday for delaying my comfort.

I walk into the kitchen, donning a blanket, and ready to hard-boil some eggs, when I remember that the stove is a gas stove.  Ok, so now I’m cold and without a way to cook my food.  Wait!  We have microwaves now!  So I’m happily going about, filling a bowl with water and putting the eggs in, since you can cook eggs in the microwave, it’s just tricky.  And I will be darned if I don’t get some hard-boiled eggs during Easter.

Microwave is on, and I go back to see my brother trying to pry open the fuse box in the hallway.  Apparently someone painted it shut.  As he’s about to get it open, we hear this loud  --BOOM--  .  We’re looking at each other, both with the expressions of “I didn’t do it!”  Well, I did it.  I forgot I was cooking the eggs while trying to help my brother and the eggs exploded.

I go charging into the kitchen, and the microwave is steaming.  I’m like “Holy hell, I broke the microwave.”  And it turns out that I did.  The microwave was dead, and the explosion took out the coffee pot as well.

So now we have no heat, no way of cooking, no coffee, the fuse box is still painted shut, and the house smells like some 1960’s horror film of “When Eggs Go Bad!”

Up until Tuesday, I was reduced to eating salads, broiling chicken in the toaster oven, and pretty much going back onto another three-day healthy diet.

So, rather than bore you with the usual project, I assumed that you would have a better time reading about this, and then about what I had to eat during the fiasco.
