Man in the Moon

Folder:
Song Lyrics

He sees me,

He knows me for what I've become.

He hears me,

He knows of the things that I've done.

He has me,

Has me in the view of his sight.

I'm right here,

Staring at him through the dark night.

The man in the moon,

Watching as we live through this life.

Just the man in the moon,

Watching as the hearts tear from the strife.

He knows that,

I?m not the victim that I seem.

He sees that,

I'm just the nightmare, not the dream.

He feels that,

I'm the wrong that needs to be right.

I know that,

I bring the pain, the pain of life.

The man in the moon,

His starry eyes look down on me.

Just the man in the moon,

The tears called "rain" is all I see.

He cries out,

For the tortured soul that I've killed.

He cries for,

The heart that is no longer filled.

He then turns,

To see the face that fits the crime.

Then I see,

That the face before him is mine.

The man in the moon,

The reason for all of my shame.

Just the man in the moon,

His vision no longer the same.

I look down,

To see the monster that I am.

I then see,

I was the lion to the lamb.

I did not,

See the pain of which I had caused.

I gave him,

A living death in a life that's lost.

The man in the moon,

I'm sorry I showed you such pain.

To the man in the moon,

On my heart I'll bear all the strain.

Dear man in the moon,

No longer will you see my face.

To the man in the moon,

You'll be hidden from such a disgrace.

He'll look out...

And he will no longer see me...

Moon faced man...

No longer faced with the pity.

He'll soon know,

That I did not mean to hurt him...

But fate plays...

With the soul's every limb...
