Unfinished

Let’s take a dive into the waters of memories

Close your eyes tight, take a moment to breathe

Leave all feelings at the door

Or when you return it may hurt ten times more

Remember our first kiss on a dark stormy night

I was scared and shaky, but you made me feel alright

Looking into your eyes is unexplainable in its own

The feeling weakens my knees, but your arms always catch my fall

Not sure of what I feel inside

I cover my face, only to find out; around you there is nowhere to hide

So afraid of this discovered feeling inside

I’m longing to be brave, but part of me is trying to hide

One glance into your deep eyes and I’m falling all over again

I’ll forever need a permanent net

To catch me every time I fall for you

I can’t believe what this is doing to me

So comfortable in your presence, yet other times I feel so afraid

But you make my happy ending possible, not so out of reach

Our story is unfinished, the ending left untold

We have been handed the quill and parchment, to write a story until we grow old

But what if our story takes a drastic fall

Only to end in unbearable pain

An unfitting ending, to a love so strong

Our story is unfinished, I pray nothing goes wrong.
